Survival on the Edge (2023)

In ‘Survival on the Edge’, we embark on a captivating journey through the enormous savannahs around Pune city in India. Fueled by a mission to find the endangered Indian Grey Wolves, wildlife filmmaker Kunal Shah’s quest unveils a profound tale of coexistence.

As he delves deeper into the savannahs, he encounters the Dhangars, a nomadic tribe of shepherds whose centuries-old culture thrives amidst the savannah’s wild beauty. Through their eyes, we witness a complex dance of survival alongside the apex predator.

The film also paints a poignant picture of change as the savannahs face urbanization and fragmentation. It becomes apparent that the fate of both the Dhangar culture and the unique savannah wildlife hangs in the balance.

While the film's core mission is to find the elusive wolves, it evolves into a mesmerizing exploration of nature, culture, and survival in a rapidly evolving world, shedding light on the urgent need to protect the savannahs and its inhabitants.

Largest Congregation of Asiatic Elephants (2024)

Kabini is a forest located between Nagarhole National Park and Bandipur National Park in southern India. Known for its elusive Black Panther, and an array of flora and fauna right from tigers to leopards, Indian wild dogs, sloth bears, gaurs and so much more, Kabini is a paradise for wildlife. But that's not it, Kabini hosts one of the largest congregations of wild Asiatic Elephants in the world on the banks of the perennial River Kabini, a spectacular event of nature.

This is a short film made by Sitana Studios for a Evolveback Resorts Kabini, a luxury wildlife resort at Kabini, and Nature inFocus, a nature & wildlife organisation in India.

Stroke of Survival (2023)

The journey of a wildlife artist of finding her way of survival after a life changing car accident, inspired by how wildlife adapts to our changing environments.

Starling Murmuration (2024)

The murmuration of Common Starlings is a phenomenal natural spectacle to witness in the winter months in the UK. Imagine a world where you look up at the sky and it’s jam packed with birds. Every dot on the blue-yellow canvas of the sky is a bird, so tiny that they collectively look like enormous swarms of bees flying around in sync, chirping, and performing aerial acrobatics.

This is not a just fairy tale (or your worst nightmare, depending on how you look at it), but this world exists in the same world we are living in. It comes alive around sunrise and sunset everyday in the winter. It’s the murmuration of Starlings! An absolutely fascinating sight to watch, so chaotic but in harmony, and you get shat on a lot when the swarm flies overhead but it’s totally worth it. It’s the most organised chaos in the world, kind of like the Indian road traffic.

Millions of birds coming together to form one giant organism in the sky, it’s unlike any other natural history phenomenon in the world.
